You'll need to assign scientists to the "bonuses" first. The top 6 subjects are what are called the
basics; this is because the number of research points (1 scientist produce 1 research point per hour
- modifiers exist) required for these topics to stay at their maximum level of research will increase
as you get more land.

In the beginning of a round, it's advisable to set your scientists to research Money bonus first -
when that max out, move on to Population growth. Next would be Power production, BUT remember that
before you come out of Newbie mode you should have Offense Morale and Defense Morale up to 30%! Don't bother with the Special Ops
Time for a crash course in attacking. Even though you cannot attack, be attacked, spy on or be spied
on during Newbie mode - it's important to know how you do it when the time comes. Move on.
